By accessing or using Ocean of Papers (oceanofpapers.com), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

Ocean of Papers is a free academic search engine that aggregates publicly available research paper data from third-party open-access databases including OpenAlex, PubMed, arXiv, bioRxiv, medRxiv, and Europe PMC. We also provide links to open-access PDFs sourced via the Unpaywall API.

Ocean of Papers does not host, store, or own any of the research papers accessible through the service. We provide links to papers hosted by their respective publishers, repositories, or open-access platforms.

You may use Ocean of Papers for:

- Personal research and academic study
- Educational purposes in schools, universities, and research institutions
- Non-commercial research and literature review
- Science communication and journalism

You may not use Ocean of Papers to:

- Scrape or systematically download large volumes of data in a way that burdens our servers or third-party APIs
- Attempt to circumvent any access restrictions imposed by third-party publishers
- Reproduce or redistribute the Ocean of Papers interface or software without permission
- Use the service for any unlawful purpose

The research papers accessible through Ocean of Papers are the intellectual property of their respective authors and publishers. Ocean of Papers provides links to and metadata about these papers but does not claim ownership over any research content.

The Ocean of Papers interface, design, and software are owned by SciDart Academy. You may not reproduce, modify, or redistribute them without explicit written permission.

Ocean of Papers links to papers and PDFs hosted by third parties. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, availability, or legality of third-party content. PDF links are sourced from Unpaywall, which identifies legally available open-access versions of papers. We do not guarantee that all linked PDFs are currently accessible.

Ocean of Papers is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that search results will be complete or accurate. Research papers are retrieved from third-party APIs, and coverage may not be exhaustive.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, SciDart Academy shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of Ocean of Papers. This includes, without limitation, any reliance on the accuracy or completeness of search results.

Your use of Ocean of Papers is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. Please review our Privacy Policy at oceanofpapers.com/privacy.

We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. We will post any changes on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of Ocean of Papers after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable to SciDart Academy's place of incorporation, without regard to conflict of law principles.
